All Grains Are Complex Carbs by Dr. John Poothullil     My name is John Poothullil and I am a retired doctor. I have been studying “food intake and the role of grains” for over twenty years.   Experts tell us that eating whole grain will give us a lot of fiber and fiber associated nutrients compared to eating refined grains. What you may not be aware of is that you are also consuming a lot of unnecessary glucose or sugar in the form of complex carbohydrate.   For example if you take 100 grams of refined rice you will consume 80 grams of complex carbohydrate the same amount of whole grain rice will give you seventy seven grams of complex carbohydrate. In other words you are practically consuming the same amount of carbohydrates. What is wrong with that whether the complex carbohydrate comes from wheat or rice or corn, each molecule of complex carbohydrate can have up to 200,000 molecules of glucose.   Yes each molecule of complex carbohyd...

"Fatty Acid Burn Switch" Explanation of Type 2 Diabetes.   My name is John Poothullil and I'm a retired MD.   I've been researching type 2 diabetes for over 20 years. We have led to believe that type 2 diabetes is cause of accumulation of excess fat. What we don't know even after 80 years of spending taxpayer money for research. What is the mechanism by which accumulation of fat in the body causes resistance to insulin In any of the three sides, especially muscle fiber, that is the biggest user of glucose in the body.     Any scientific concept to be validated, we have to show the mechanism to be validated objectively. We need to be able to measure it even after 80 years of research the concept of science insulin resistance has not been scientifically verified.   In other words, we don't know the mechanism of insulin resistance at the muscle side. All we are told is muscle fibers do not accept glucose when there are fatty acids and fat outsi...

Blending versus Chewing Food by Dr. John Poothullil I am Dr. John, retired physician, author of “Eat, Chew Live and Diabetes”. I have been researching diabetes for the last 20 years. Today's topic is “quantity control”. More and more people are blending and bearing vegetables and fruits in an attempt to get more nutrients into the body.   The problem with that is “quantity control”.   Let's examine that in detail. This is cut-up vegetables of different type  and  this is the same amount of vegetable by weight pureed. How long will it take for you to eat this may be less than a minute. But when you eat this you have to chew the chewing releases nucleons onto your tongue in the mouth, the brain rewards you by creating the sensation of enjoyment and the intensity of that enjoyment slows down then you stop eating. That is the natural way of controlling the quantity of what you eat. This is what you need to control your food intake each item eat it as natura...
