Blending versus Chewing Food by Dr. John Poothullil

Blending versus Chewing Food by Dr. John Poothullil

I am Dr. John, retired physician, author of “Eat, Chew Live and Diabetes”. I have been researching diabetes for the last 20 years. Today's topic is “quantity control”.

More and more people are blending and bearing vegetables and fruits in an attempt to get more nutrients into the body.

The problem with that is “quantity control”.

Let's examine that in detail. This is cut-up vegetables of different type

and this is the same amount of vegetable by weight pureed. How long will it take for you to eat this may be less than a minute.

But when you eat this you have to chew the chewing releases nucleons onto your tongue in the mouth, the brain rewards you by creating the sensation of enjoyment and the intensity of that enjoyment slows down then you stop eating. That is the natural way of controlling the quantity of what you eat.

This is what you need to control your food intake each item eat it as natural in form as possible. Do not add any salad dressing or anything that can interfere with enjoyment of the taste that way you can enjoy what you eat and eat what you enjoy.
