Diabetes - Bariatric Surgery vs Changing Your Diet by Dr. John Poothullil

My name is John Poothullil. I'm a retired doctor who has been researching type 2 diabetes for over 20 years and the author of “Eat Chew Live”

Today's topic is surgery to control blood sugar. Many people are considering weight loss surgery, also called bariatric surgery such as bending the stomach, stapling the stomach or removal of part of the stomach to control their blood sugar.

Recently the FDA approved an implantation of a tube in the side of the stomach to drain food out after you have eaten.

Before you try any of those drastic measures,  please consider what I am going to say that is avoid eating grain and grain flour products for a period of six weeks. Rice, bread pasta, pizza, rolls, cookies, cakes everything made with grain and grain flour.

Grains were never intended for humans, otherwise we would've had beak to take the chopped off. So consider this when you have surgery, after the surgery what and how much can you eat or do you want to evacuate what you have eaten through this implanted a hole in the side of your  stomach. Try this for six weeks and then decide what you want to.
